MET-Head Start Services

Education and Child Development: We provide children with a learning environment and the varied experiences which will help them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development .

Child Health:  MET-Head Start assumes an active role in children’s health. Children’s current health status is monitored and reported to parents, and corrective and preventive procedures are undertaken with their cooperation. In addition to arranging medical examinations and care, each Head Start program teaches children how to care for their health, including the importance of eating proper food and caring for their teeth.

Nutrition: A basic premise of MET-Head Start is that children must be properly fed to have the strength and energy to learn. This philosophy calls for teaching children good nutrition habits that will carry over for a lifetime.

Family Partnerships: MET-Head Start engages in a process of collaborative partnership building with parents to establish mutual trust and to identify family goals, strengths, necessary services and other supports.

Services to Children with Disabilities: All MET-Head Start programs enroll children with disabilities. As a model for inclusion, Head Stat is set up to give a good start to as wide a range of children as possible. In fact, 10% of our total enrollment spaces are reserved for children with disabilities.
